So today has been an emotional one already and it is only 11:30 a.m.  I was able to instant message with my sister who is now in Qatar (http://www.lonelyplanet.com/mapshells/middle_east/qatar/qatar.htm). In fact, if you care even a little you might be interested in the place she is living.  I mean I wouldn't complain about it.  It is like a resort, check it out (http://www.riviera-compound.com).

Anyway she has a webcam so I was able to see her.  I hope to get a sound card in my computer and a webcam as well so that we will be able to talk all the time.  I just know that I am going to miss talking to her.  She has kept me from going insane since I have moved here from Uganda.  She has been able to keep me calm when people are jerks to me (which, unfortuanately, has happened more than I expected).  She has been everything that a best friend and sister should be!  So please pray for both of us!

So believe it or not my work took me in a really funny direction today.  I was reading an online article titled, "Consumers Becoming Marketing-Resistant."  Well the article makes reference to Burger King who is trying to adapt messages to fit this restless/resistant audience using a web site:  www.subservientchicken.com

Burger King is using this site to help launch thier new product the Tendercrisp chicken sandwich.  Burger King's advertising slogan is:  "Have it your way."  Well on this website you can have the chicken do anything you want....playing off of the "Have it your way" idea.  So I highly recommend you go to this site just for fun.  You type in a command and the chicken will do what you ask.  To give you some ideas, I had the chicken dance macarena, hula hoop, yoga, pray, jump, dance the roger rabbit, belly dance, stand on its head, and shake its tail feathers.  Let me just say that we don't raise 'em like that Down on the Farm!  Have a few Laughs Out Loud!

If you haven't already noticed I am not very consistent at posting journal entries.  Today for some reason I feel like rambling on a bit.  I guess I am an irregular xanga writer because I feel that I live an amazingly dull life and I fear boring you to death.  I mean if you didn't already find me dull, boring, and sad....better not keep reading.  I do hope to continue fooling some of you.

I have been back from Uganda for a week and two days and I have been a bit disappointed.  I mean noone has honored me with a chicken or anything like that.  Seriously, it has been difficult coming back and jumping back into life.  I am finally back on a better sleep schedule and feel as if I am getting over the jet lag that I was experiencing.

Jet lag for me is an interesting thing...the sleep depravation causes me to think, speak, and act slower than usual (this is not a good thing considering that I  process things slowly under normal circumstances).  Jet lag also causes me to be overemotional and hypersensitive. Which must be the reason why I found myself eating Ritters frozen custard by myself on Wednesday night after church.  Yep, there I was in my Jeep, alone, with tears streaming down my face.  Why was I crying?  I don't know!  So I guess this is my plea for my friends to either honor me with a chicken or buy me some Ritters Custard. Peace!

Well I was honored in Kyabirwa village yesterday....I was given a chicken.  In fact is was just like the ones that we raise "Down on the Farm."  It was not your typical Ugandan chicken though....it was a fat chicken.  The group wanted to see me kill it but I am giving someone else that honor.  Things are going well....thanks for your prayers!

Katonda Mulugi!  (God is Good)

Wow, I have now been here for one week.  Time is flying by.  I hear thats what happens when you are having fun.  And I really am having a great time.  Did I mention that I went bungee jumping?  Well I did...over the Nile River.  John Barton, six interns (Sam, Tim, Suzy, Kristen, Bryce, and Krystal), and I went on Tuesday morning.  It was an awesome experience.  I have been busy helping the Bogles buy appliances and get settled into thier new home.  They are doing so well for a potentially overwhelming time.  I have visited the homes of several friends and have several more visits to make.  Today I am working at the Source Cafe with my friends and will teach a ladies bible class this afternoon.  I am looking forward to this very much.  The interns are in Mbarara now and are doing well.  Apparently, Tim was sick for a while (we believe with an ameoba) but is improving.  I thank God for blessing us this far and ask that he continues to keep us all safe and healthy.  I appreciate your prayers! God Bless.
